CAL sophomore, Riley Thompson, has committed to play baseball at the University of Louisville.  Thompson is one of the top pitchers in the midwest for the class of 2015.  UL head baseball coach, Dan McDonnell met with Thompson over the weekend to discuss his future with the Cardinal baseball program.

“Riley is a great kid who works hard, and has a big-time arm.  He consistently pitches 84-85 mph, but  I’ve seen him touch 88-90 mph,” said CAL’s head baseball coach, Tim Brown.

“I have been playing baseball since I can remember,” said Thompson.  “I love everything about UL’s baseball program.  Coach McDonnell is a good Christian man who has made me feel really welcome.”

Riley started playing baseball for the Centurions in the 6th grade and began pitching for the Varsity team during his 8th grade year.  Thompson pitched 8-2 last year as a freshman and has an ERA of 2.08.
