English Station Elementary (1st-3rd Grades) Christmas Music Programs

Tuesday, December 12
&
Thursday, December 14

First, second and third grade students are specifically assigned to one of these nights based on their regular classroom. Participation in this program is required and is an important part of their music grade for the second nine weeks (see the Family Handbook). Please carefully note your child’s date.

Costumes: It is a tradition at CAL for each child to dress as someone from the Bible’s Christmas story. Costumes should be very simple, even homemade (for example, a shepherd’s costume made out of a robe, sandals and a towel or cloth for a headpiece). Please make sure your child’s costume is not too warm, as the stage lights can make it hot. Parents may choose their child’s costume from the following: BOYS: shepherd, angel, a Biblical peasant, Roman soldier or Wise man. GIRLS: shepherd, angel, Biblical peasant or MaryFor safety reasons, no shepherd staves or swordsAngels should have garland-style halos (no high halos because they block other students) and NO WINGS, as that leads to crowding on the risers.

Students should report in costume to their classroom teacher at 6 p.m. on the night of their performance. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. and be finished by 7:15 p.m.

The following classes will perform on Tuesday, December 12:

Thank you parents for all your help with costumes! I look forward to hearing the children singing and praising God! I know the children’s performances will help us celebrate the Christmas season with our focus on Jesus, “the reason for the season!”
