Jack Barrickman has been kicking for the Christian Academy football team since eighth grade.
It didn't take long for him to find his footing.
"I made my first kick against Bullitt East, I think it was," Barrickman said. "After that, I've just stuck with it."
In addition to being the top kicker for the Centurions, he's also on the soccer team.
"Being a kicker, you have to have your offense producing," he said. "This is one of the best teams to do that."
Whether it's one point or three, Barrickman enters his senior year hoping he puts up plenty of points on the scoreboard.
"There was a sign-up booth called, 'Kick-It' for Alex's Lemonade Stand [Foundation]," he said when he attended Kohl's Kicking Camp this offseason. "Donors can sign up to pledge an amount for every kick I make."
For every kick he makes, that money goes directly to childhood cancer research.
CAL head coach Hunter Cantwell says Barrickman's willingness to help others is what he strives to have in his program.
"This game is precious but it doesn't last forever," Cantwell said. "Continuing to build their character and love for others inspired by God's word out in the community."
Barrickman is honored to do his part. Leaving an impact greater than any field goal he'll make this season.
"It feels really good just knowing that I can help people with the talent I have from God to help children a little less fortunate than I am," Barrickman said.
