Kelly – An Alumna and Lifer Who will Always Say CAL – Rock Creek was Home Away from Home for Many Years

I went to UK and majored in PR then nursing where my husband and I met, dated, got married and then moved to Nashville, TN. We both worked at Vanderbilt Hospital. We moved back to Louisville and blessedly started a family, where now my oldest boy is 7 in 1st grade at CAL and my middle girl is in kindergarten; enjoying all the football, basketball and cheer activities thus far! We also have a sweet baby sister at home that gives us all the joy and laughs. We attend SECC Shelby Co. and live in Simpsonville with some chickens, dog and a cat and love the farm life. We love to beach when we can to 30A, head to the pool in the summer and explore the outwest when life allows. We are honored to be Centurions in this family!

Adeline – An Alumna Who Returned Home

Married my college sweetheart, Benjamin Lockwood, September 2, 2023. We currently live in the backyard of CAL, which is so funny. I absolutely am loving my job and love seeing all the CAL patients! Since graduation I have gone to school in PA, did about three years of nursing school before dropping out to pursue a degree in communications my senior year. It was a big change but the Lord guided that path and it’s funny how I’ve ended up back in the healthcare system! My husband is originally from Jamestown, NY and is currently a sales engineer at Keyence in Louisville. Love being able to show him around KY and talk to him about CAL.

Adam – An Alumnus Serving in the Mission Field

Please be in prayer for Adam, his family and their work.

Annie – An Alumna Who One Day Wants to Give Back to CAL

I am currently a junior at WKU, studying elementary education, and I hold the position of Student Body Vice President. I would have never dreamed of student government in high school turning into working for 17,000 students and being considered faculty/staff at WKU! I also work as a substitute teacher while in my clinical classes!

I am currently studying elementary education and would one day love to potentially end up back at CAL! I’d love to give back to the school that gave me so much.

Alex and Bailey – Alumni Recently Married

Alex Tran and Bailey Wharton met at Christian Academy in middle school. They began dating at the beginning of 10th grade and continued to date all through high school. After graduation from CAL in 2016 they both attended the University of Alabama. After college Alex moved to Austin, TX to attend The University of Texas School of Law. In the spring of 2022 Alex proposed at the Dutchman Family Winery in Dripping Springs, TX.  After 10 years of dating Bailey and Alex were married at Camp Lucy Resort in Dripping Springs, TX on May 27, 2023. Four former CAL students were groomsmen: Derek Holland, Jonathan Cheek, Connor Duffy and Best Man – Charlie Tran. Two current CAL students were bridesmaids: Avonlea Wharton and Emily Tran and CAL alumna Hope Steinforth was a bridesmaid as well. Sam Bischoff was the ring bearer and son of Hannah (Steinforth) Bischoff, also a CAL alumna. There were four former and current teachers in attendance along with many other CAL alumni and families.

“It was the most special day marrying my highschool sweetheart surrounded by so many people we love who were there from the beginning.”

-Bailey Tran

Alex took the bar and passed in the summer of 2023 and after a honeymoon in Italy, Germany and Austria the couple relocated to Dallas, TX where Alex accepted a position with Holland and Knight law firm. Bailey is working for Allergan Aesthetics as a Senior Inside Sales Manager. They return to Louisville often to visit both of their families and love to stop by Christian Academy to see friends and teachers.
