MARCH SERVICE PROJECT

The middle school service project this year will be purchasing materials to pack bags of rice and beans to provide 50,000 meals for a third world country outreach.

Our plan is to have all of our students commit to raising at least $15.00 through a service they can provide to a family member, friend, neighbor or church member.  The money the students raise will go towards the purchase of materials to provide the 50,000 meals.

Beginning now through February 19th, students will provide their service(s) to raise money.  All the money raised will be due February 19th, but can be turned in as early as February 15th.

To enhance this experience, on March 16th, both the high school and middle school will participate in a "rice and beans" day.  Instead of students bringing their lunch or purchasing lunch through the cafeteria, we are asking them to eat rice and beans and pay $3.50 for this meal.  If students normally bring their lunch, they may bring cash in to pay for the meal.  A meal of rice and beans is a luxury for people in third world countries, so hopefully by experiencing this meal, our students will grow to appreciate what they have.  Proceeds from this lunch will go towards the materials needed for our food project.

Parents who would like to pack meals alongside their child are more than welcome to join us!
