LAST DAY FOR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS!

Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

8TH GRADE CROSSOVER CEREMONY - May 29, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

Dear Parents of Eighth Grade Students,

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up your child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

What a powerful reminder of our responsibility when it comes to our children. It has been a pleasure serving with you in the educational as well as spiritual growth of your student(s). It is difficult to believe that their middle school experience is coming to a close. This letter is to inform you of two important items specific to the close of eighth grade.

First, as you know, the Washington, D.C. trip is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 – Wednesday, April 17. Students making the trip will not be attending school on Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19. Students who do not travel on the trip are expected to be at school that week (with the exception of Good Friday, April 19) for a virtual Washington, D.C. experience and project.

Second, let me share with you information concerning Eighth Grade Crossover. Crossover is the culminating event of middle school. This day symbolizes the end of the middle school years and the crossing over into high school. We are excited to provide an opportunity to celebrate this special day. One important element to help make this day special relates to the event’s dress code. Below you will find some general information about the ceremony along with the expected dress for the event.

Parents and students will receive a Crossover Commitment Form at the end of April which must be signed in order to participate. PLEASE NOTE: Students DO NOT have school this day (May 29). Their last day will be Tuesday, May 28.
