HELP WANTED:

  • CAL Technology is hiring for the summer! We are seeking 3 part-time (20 hrs/wk – $12/hr) summer technology assistants to assist the Technology team with several tasks over the summer. Some of those tasks include:
    • Cleaning technology equipment
    • Cleaning/organizing Chromebooks
    • Assist with daily tickets

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Blackacre Farm – We are doing a teen workday on Saturday, May 18th from 10-1No need to sign up, just come with work clothes and gloves.  3200 Tucker Station Road – meet by the barn

COUNSELORS:

  • Asbury University is hosting Summit Camp! You and your friends are invited to spend a week laughing, playing and experiencing Christ in a new way! What you can expect – learn about a Christian worldview and how that compares to other worldviews, open forums with faculty members, small group discussions, learn about a variety of topics focused around Faith and the Marketplace, engaging activities throughout the week.  Rising high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors will earn a $4,000 Asbury scholarship for being a part of the most fun and inspirational week of your year. Dates are June 24 – June 28, Cost is $550.
  • Interested in Engineering? The application for the University of Kentucky Engineering Dean’s Academy is now open. This special event will take place on UK’s campus July 31-August 1, 2024. To apply for the 2024 Engineering Dean’s Academy, students must: Be a rising senior (graduating in 2025), have a minimum 3.5 unweighted high school GPA, and have a minimum 31 ACT composite (or 1420 SAT) and a minimum 27 ACT math subscore (or 630 SAT math). If you have not taken or do not plan to take a standardized test, you can be considered for the Dean’s Academy based on just GPA, involvement, leadership experience, etc. Interested students can apply here
  • The Norton Healthcare High School Academy Program is designed for high school students who have an interest in pursuing a healthcare career. Participants will receive hands-on experience while working 12 hours a week as interns alongside a Norton Healthcare employee. Positions are paid and students must be 17 year old or older.   Students complete this 2024-25 High School Academy Program interest form Deadline to complete interest form is 5/19/24.
  • Taylor University is offering an exciting innovation and entrepreneurship educational opportunity! IMPACT is a week-long summer camp in July for rising high school juniors and seniors seeking to develop their leadership abilities for the common good. During the intensive, week-long program, students are divided into handpicked teams to strategically address their ideas and to develop a feasible project plan through practical tools. By the end of the week, students will have developed a ready-to-be-launched venture.  If interested, please speak to your counselor.
