Scholarship Tax Credits in Kentucky
Dear Southwest Family,
As I previously shared with you, during the upcoming 2020 calendar year Kentucky legislators will be presented with the Scholarship Tax Credit opportunity. The media has given a lot of information about this and I want to provide you once again with a Fact Sheet and Information Sheet that clarifies what this opportunity truly is. Please note that these are privately-donated funds and not public taxpayer dollars. Just last year, we had dozens of families that wanted to be a part of our campus. Due to a lack of funding and their financial need, they were not able to complete admission to our school. This Scholarship Tax Credit would enable families to have a choice for the best education of their child. Please take the time to read this information and be informed. Please also view this video from some of our students who have shared what Christian Academy means to them.
My desire is for any family that completes the admissions process for our school then has the opportunity to enroll their child here and not be inhibited due to finances. For more information, please visit www.edchoiceky.com or join the "Kentucky Parents Network" Facebook group. If you support this opportunity, please reach out to your Kentucky legislator to let them know of your support. You can locate your Kentucky legislator by typing your home address in the link provided here. This website will give you the contact information for your legislators with both a phone number and email address.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (502) 447-6500 or acarson@caschools.us. Please be in prayer for all schools, educators, students and families in Kentucky.
Join Us for Jesus, Cell Phones and Taco Tuesday – February 25
Parents,
So many of you have taken the time to speak with me about what's happening in your lives and your children's lives. Interestingly, there are some common threads from most of those conversations. Would you believe me if I told you they involve taco Tuesdays, cell phones and Jesus? How do these things correlate and provide insight into who our children are? How do we, as parents, engage our children while at the same time point them to the only One who can love them more than their 5,000 Instagram followers? Join us for an evening where we discuss the reality of technology, how anxiety affects our children, discipleship of your child and if family dinners really are that important. If that weren't exciting enough, Taco City and Mango's of Louisville will be providing a delicious taco bar for everyone, so be sure to register. We want to make sure we have plenty! Did I mention, we also have childcare available for a donation to our high school mission team? As a parent, I am so excited to join with you and hear from others who have dealt with these issues from a Christian perspective and can offer valuable insights to us all. Please click on the registration link in the red image below for more information, and as always, feel free to call or email me if you have any additional questions. Once you are registered, follow up emails will make sure you stay up to date on details including childcare. Please note registration for this event closes on Thursday, February 20. I look forward to seeing you all at Christian Academy's English Station Campus on Tuesday, February 25, 5:45 – 8 p.m. beginning in the auditorium. Living in the Joy of Christ, Aimée Games |
