4th – 8th Grade Archery Team
Our Archery season is coming up. If you want your child to participate, please click here to print/complete the KHSAA middle school physical form and return it no later than Wednesday, October 24. It is very important that these forms are turned in on time because this is how we will generate our rosters and those who turn them in late may not be able to participate. We will have a parent meeting on Friday, November 2, for those who have turned in their physical forms.
RenWeb Name Change to FACTS
In 2014, FACTS, our tuition management company, bought RenWeb, our student information system. Over the next few days, the two companies will combine to become a single brand: FACTS. We expect this change, at least initially, will be mostly cosmetic.
This change should not impact Canvas, our learning management system.
What does this mean for you?
- The way you log into your accounts will not change (whether in ParentsWeb or on the RenWeb Home app). Your usernames and passwords will remain the same.
- At some point this weekend, the location to login will change to FACTSMgt.com. We will update the links on our school website once this change is made. As always, the best way to log into RenWeb is to start here: http://caschools.us/renweb.
- You can still log into the RenWeb Home app, although you may see new colors and logos in the app.
Thank you for your patience during this transition. If we learn of any additional changes that impact function, we will communicate those to you.
Southwest Parent Prayer Group
Join our parent prayer group of passionate parents who meet together each week on Fridays to seek God’s heart for CAL-Southwest as we pray into the life of this school.
In the past several years since our group formed, we have seen many prayers answered and God move in powerful ways in the lives of students, teachers and families.
Whatever the need, we bring it to our Heavenly Father. We also praise the Lord for the many ways He is actively at work and already doing far above what we could ever expect. So please join us on Friday mornings in the Media Center from 8:20 – 9:20 a.m. Our desire is to see God glorified!

Order Your Yearbook Now!
Last year, most of our students purchased a yearbook and came to the end-of-the-year signing parties. We all had a great time reminiscing about the year, eating yummy treats and signing each other’s yearbooks. Now is the time to ensure you get to be a part of the fun at this year’s yearbook signing party! Don’t wait because we sold out last year! Buying your yearbook now also allows you to take advantage of the discounted price because after Christmas the price will go up!
To buy a yearbook, simply go to www.walsworthyearbooks.com and choose “Buy a Yearbook.” Then enter “Christian Academy of Louisville Southwest” and follow the remaining prompts to order. The cost is $22.25 and is paid online. On January 1, the price will go to $32.25, so buy now and save money!

Lands’ End Scholarship Opportunity for Students in Grades 6-12
Lands’ End will award one $10,000 scholarship in each grade 6-12 to students who are enrolled in a Lands’ End preferred school. All Christian Academy School System schools are Lands’ End preferred schools.

Scholastic Book Fair, October 15-19
Monday – Thursday | 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday | 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. during Fall Family Fellowship
Students will be allowed to look and purchase during their normal weekly library time. They may also come and shop during free time, at their teacher’s discretion. Parents and other family members are welcome to come before or after school to browse and shop! We accept cash, credit cards and checks made payable to CAL.
Operation Christmas Child Service Project
We have kicked off our second quarter service project! We will be packing and collecting shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child! Your child should have received a brochure with instructions and details for how to pack a shoebox gift. The deadline to turn in these gifts is Thursday, November 15, as part of National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for a special combined chapel service that day from 9-10 a.m. in our school gym. We will learn more about this ministry and hopefully share the specific countries where our shoebox gifts will be sent.
Last year, our Southwest campus gave 332 shoebox gifts to this ministry and helped to share the Gospel in 10 different countries! Our goal this year is 350 SHOEBOX GIFTS! Our students have already shown so much excitement about this project and we can’t wait to see how the Lord will work through our efforts.
NEW THIS YEAR – Every child who donates a shoebox gift will have their name put in a drawing for a free ticket to Newport Aquarium! We will draw winners from junior academy (preschool), elementary and middle school. The number of entries for a child’s name will equal the number of shoeboxes that the child turns in (ex. 3 shoebox gifts equals 3 times entered in the drawing).

Quarter 1 Report Cards
For the 2018-2019 school year, we will not be sending home paper copies of student report cards. On Friday, October 19, all parents in kindergarten through 8th grades will receive an individualized email from Mrs. Wilson in the office for each of your students. The email will contain a link that will take you to a PDF version of your child's report card. You can save the PDF to your files or print it at home for your records. End of year report cards will still be mailed in June along with TerraNova test scores. Please contact Mrs. Wilson if you have any questions.
