In order to receive a Christian Academy diploma, students are required to complete 60 hours of community service over their four years of high school; it is recommended that students try to average 15 hours per year. Students must not receive payment for this work and work may not be done for direct family members. Up to half of the hours may be served in a student’s local church setting (service to the saved), but at least half must be served in a community or missions setting (service to the unsaved). Service hours must be properly documented on the Community Service Hours Form below and submitted to the Counseling office. Prior to a mission trip, the mission coordinator will determine how many services hours will be awarded for the trip. Credit for hours begins the day after 8th grade graduation. No credit will be granted for time worked during school hours.
