Volleyball Sate Finals – Christian Academy of Indiana

Christian Academy of Indiana volleyball advanced to state finals for the third straight year. Coach Pauly says, “As a coach, I can’t be more proud of this team for an outstanding season (31- 7).” The Warriors of Christian Academy fell short to Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves 3-1. “Despite the loss this will not define our outstanding season of volleyball,” says Pauly. Over the past five years, the Warriors have earned 5 sectional championships, 4 regional championships, 3 semi-state championships, 2 state runner-up finishes and 1 state championship. That is an outstanding accomplishment for a small 1A school!

Sierra Rayzor Signs to Play Volleyball at Samford University

Christian Academy School System | Christian Academy of Indiana | Sierra Razor | Volleyball Signing | Samford UniverstityNew Albany, IN, November 9, 2016– After a competitive high school career at Christian Academy of Indiana, Sierra Rayzor has signed to play volleyball at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. While at Christian Academy of Indiana, Sierra has help lead the team to four sectional championships, four regional championships, three semi-state championships, two state runner-up titles and one state championship. Her heart for volleyball is evident, and even more so is her heart for her teammates and giving God the glory for all she has accomplished.

Coach Pauly says of Sierra, “I’m very proud and blessed to have had Sierra as a part of the building of CAI Volleyball. When Sierra was 12, I remember telling her that with her God-given ability, she could be a college athlete. Today that becomes a reality.”

Volleyball Sectionals this Saturday, October 22!

It’s going to be an exciting show down as our Varsity Volleyball team competes in the Sectional this Saturday (October 22) at South Central. Games will kick off at 11 a.m. with the Championship game taking place at 7 p.m.

Boys Cross Country WIN Sectional!

The boys were the sectional champs! They finished 1st with a team score of 38. New Albany High School finished 2nd with a team score of 76. The race finished with Caleb Futter and Skylar Stidam finishing side by side, stride by stride. They cruised to the finish together, knowing that the overall goal is the state championship. Caleb's time was 16:30.36 and Skylar's time was 16:30.43. Bryce finished 3rd for the Warriors and finished 4th overall. He ran a great race and finished in a time of 16:47. The team is looking good as they head into Regionals this Saturday, 11 a.m., at Crawford County. The girls will run at 11:45 a.m. Come out and cheer them on!

Winter Athletic Picture Days

It is hard to believe our winter sports programs are gearing up, teams are being formed and practices are just around the corner. We have already scheduled our picture days for our winter programs.

We will have a special photo day just for our senior athletes. On Wednesday, October 19, right after school all senior athletes will have the opportunity to create their Senior Banner. Each banner will cost $35 and can be paid on picture day. We will have forms in the office, as well as the option to order online at lifetouchsports.com.

Our middle school and high school programs will have their pictures taken on Wednesday, November 2, and Wednesday, November 16,.immediately after school. Keep an eye out for location and the specific teams that will be scheduled on each of those days.

CAI Names New Cheerleading Coach

Christian Academy of Indiana is pleased to announce the hiring of Tristin Gregory as the new high school cheerleading coach. Coach Gregory has spent many years cheering throughout middle school and high school and currently works at CAI in the junior academy (preschool) and after care departments. She is excited to join the athletics department and help develop the cheer program from the youngest Warriors through the high school girls. Prior to being at CAI, Coach Gregory called western Texas her home. Coach Gregory also knows the importance of the CAI mission and looks forward to implementing the truths of God’s Word into the cheer program. Over the years she and her husband have spent a great deal of time pouring into the lives of youth of all ages through youth ministry. In being given this opportunity, Coach Gregory says, "I am looking forward to growing a cheer team that is full of excitement and one that pours out encouragement and the love of Jesus in all that we do! Go Warriors!"

Boys Tennis and Soccer with the Win!

Tuesday night the Warriors took on the Cougars at CAI in a thrilling 4-2 match that featured not just an aggressive approach but also a number of successes for the Warriors. The second half featured all four goals by the Warriors. Declan Hamm contributed two of the goals, while Max Samourian and Danny Lee both contributed a goal themselves. Kevin Ballew played a strong game in the net for the Warriors, coming up with a number of aggressive saves late in the game when the score was going back and forth.

Over on the tennis courts, a long match ensued for CAI against South Central. Bradley Gay jumped out early and quickly swept his opponent 6-3, 6-0. Daniel Boesing and Josh Hahn both locked in to a long match with their opponents, lasting over 2 ½ hours! Both ended victorious after three sets each (Daniel 4-6,6-4, 7-5 and Josh 6-2, 5-7, 6-4), giving CAI the 3-2 victory.
