All three of our CAL youth football teams are playing in the Louisville Youth Football League South Division Playoffs!

Please come out and cheer on these players and teams! Our opponents bring lots of fans. Bring your CAL spirit and help these teams advance to the championship games.

CAL 1st/2nd Grade Play at 10:30 a.m.
CAL 3rd/4th Grade Play at 3 p.m.
CAL 5th/6th Grade Play at 6 p.m.

Please make sure your calendars are marked for Thursday, December 12, at 7 p.m. for our Christmas program. The program will feature our kindergarten through 5th grade students, the 3rd grade classes acting out the Christmas story and the Middle School Spiritual Life Praise Team. 

Attendance is a requirement for kindergarten-5th grade students as stated in the Elementary Family Handbook. 

Students must be in their designated areas by 6:40 p.m. Students may wear a nice outfit instead of school uniforms but please keep in mind dress code rules (no jeans allowed) and that they will be sitting down on the risers during portions of the program.

We have kicked off our second quarter service project! We will be packing and collecting shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child! Your child should have received a brochure with instructions and details for how to pack a shoebox gift. The deadline to turn in these gifts is Thursday, November 21, as part of National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for a special combined chapel service that day from 9-10 a.m. in our school gym. We will learn more about this ministry and hopefully share the specific countries where our shoebox gifts will be sent.

Last year, our Southwest Campus gave 410 shoebox gifts to this ministry and helped to share the Gospel in 10 different countries! Our goal this year is 350 SHOEBOX GIFTS! Our students have already shown so much excitement about this project and we can’t wait to see how the Lord will work through our efforts.

PLEASE NOTE – Every child who donates a shoebox gift will have their name put in a drawing for a free ticket to Newport Aquarium! We will draw winners from junior academy (preschool), elementary and middle school. The number of entries for a child’s name will equal the number of shoeboxes that the child turns in (ex. 3 shoebox gifts equals 3 times entered in the drawing).

Yearbooks are $22.50 each and only sold online. In addition, we would appreciate your help with photos. If you snap a pic at a school function, feel free to email it to Ms. Games at algames@caschools.us so it can possibly be used in this year's book. If you take a multiple photos of an event, send up to 5 photos. Thanks so much for your help this year and for ordering a yearbook!

This past weekend, Landon Stillwell (7th Grade) represented Christian Academy in the Kentucky Middle School State Golf Championship. He shot a one under par 71 and tied CAL-English Station student Brady Smith for low round of the day. Landon won the tournament in a 6-hole playoff is the 2019 Kentucky Middle School State Champion. Please join us in congratulating Landon! We are so proud of him and his representation of our school!

October is Ministry Appreciation Month! We want to give our students and staff the opportunity to invite their pastor, children’s minister, Sunday School teacher, small group leader, church choir leader and/or other servants in their church to join them for lunch here at school on Wednesday, October 23. Please have your child return their completed form to their classroom teacher by Tuesday, October 1, and formal invitations will be mailed from the school office.
