How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
– Psalm 133:1, NIV
Biblical Unity at Christian Academy School System is the pursuit of God-honoring oneness with Jesus Christ and Christlike oneness among all of our employees, all of our students and in all of our households – for God’s glory, for all of our good and for the sake of our surrounding communities.
Maintaining our Pursuit of Biblical Unity this Election Season
As we enter into another election season, we want to remind our school community that the Christian Academy School System is partisan only to the Bible and our shared Biblical and Foundational Statements. We support each person’s right to vote as led by God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. In keeping with our school, parent and employee partnership commitment, we have agreed to treat our neighbors with respect and honor, as fellow image bearers of God, including engaging in responsible discourse. Christian Academy is firmly dedicated to promoting unity rather than divisiveness in all aspects, including politics.
Election Season Devotional #1: Mr. Deon Parker – What does the Bible say about national leaders and how we should view them?
Mr. Deon Parker
Director of Biblical Unity for Christian Academy School System
Deon Parker grew up in the state of Michigan. He was a 2004 graduate of Piedmont Baptist College (now Carolina University in Winston-Salem, NC). He has been married to his wife Julie since 2001, has five children and two grandchildren. Deon has spent over two decades in vocational Christian ministry as a Pastor, Chaplain, Coach and Teacher. Deon is currently serving as the Director of Biblical Unity for the Christian Academy School System (Louisville, KY and New Albany, IN).
It is historically true that when God’s people from all backgrounds work together our world changes for the better. Biblical unity takes God, you and me.
– Mr. Deon Parker
Mr. Parker’s 2024 Book – “Biblical Unity: It Takes You and Me”
“United we stand; divided we fall”. If we truly believe these words—which are rooted in the wisdom of Jesus Christ (Psalm 133:1; Matthew 12:25), why do we accept division among us, generation after generation? It does not have to be this way. God has a better way.
In his book, “Biblical Unity: It Takes You And Me,” author Deon Parker shares many ways we have become unbiblically divided and many ways we can pursue biblical unity. He also shares his personal journey to becoming a biblical unifier and pays homage to some of American history’s greatest unifiers. Most importantly, Deon shares the eternal value of being united with Jesus Christ and with all of God’s children—across racial, gender, denominational and political lines.
This book offers Christ-centered hope and guidance for people who want to enjoy long-term loving and respectful relationships with God and one another. Any household, school and church can be blessed by the insights of this book and assisted in their biblical unifying efforts.
“Biblical Unity: It Takes You And Me” is available here on Amazon in paperback and Kindle (eBook). A portion of the profits from this book will be donated to Christian Academy School System.
