Important Parent Opportunity – The Anxious Generation Townhall Meetings
Last spring a book was released that solidified some of the most important research affecting your child. The book is The Anxious Generation by social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt. The ripple effect of his reporting has been nothing short of monumental, and has sparked major changes in some school districts.
We need your input concerning how the research will affect Christian Academy and your child. Before Christmas break we hosted two first-ever parent town hall meetings to discuss how this might affect our Christian Academy culture. The parents in attendance encouraged us to offer more opportunities so that more of you could weigh in. Please look at the following options and sign up to attend! There are limited spots for each.
What topics does the research hit on? Mental health, smart phones, social media, and how our kids play. It affects our kid’s social, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing – and it affects us too! You do not have to have read the book to attend!
We promise to be concise and begin & end on time. Here are the upcoming dates. Click on the date to sign up:
January 23, 2025 at Christian Academy of Louisville
January 30, 2025 at Christian Academy of Indiana
February 25, 2025 at Christian Academy of Louisville
March 3, 2025 at Christian Academy of Indiana
All meetings will be in the High School/Upper School Media Center and begin at 7:00 pm and will conclude by 8:30 pm., but there are limited spots for each meeting.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me – Becky Wiley, Director of Spiritual Formation, at bwiley@caschools.us – with any questions. I encourage you to make this a priority. Looking forward to seeing you!

Announcing Christian Academy’s 2nd Annual “Tables of Brotherhood” Lunches
The week of January 20, Christian Academy will be holding its 2nd Annual “Tables of Brotherhood” lunches. These lunches will be held at CAL (Tuesday, January 21) and CAI (Thursday, January 23) for high school and middle school girls and guys. The title of these lunches was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s inspiring quote from his August 28, 1963 speech where he shared his dream for people of all racial and gender backgrounds to be able to sit down at “tables of brotherhood” (i.e. enjoying impartial fellowship/unity).
During these lunches, we will be engaging in conversations about some of the commonalities God has blessed us with and how these commonalities can assist us in our pursuit of Biblical Unity at Christian Academy. Salsarita’s will be served at CAL’s ToB lunches and Qdoba will be served at CAI’s ToB lunches. Middle school and high school lunches will cost $5 per participant. We will be opening 25 spots for each of these lunches. Signups and payments can be made in school offices until all the spots are filled. We look forward to Christian Academy students and employees coming to these tables together.
