2025-2026 Priority Admission for Siblings of Current Families

2025-2026 Priority Admission for Siblings of Current Families

We are thankful that our Christian Academy families have chosen to partner with us for their child’s Christian education and we want to continue to serve our families well. Current, continuously enrolled students will remain enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year. There is no action needed to continue enrollment.

However, we would like to remind families that if you have a child that is not currently enrolled and will be a new incoming student at Christian Academy for the 2025-2026 school year, please submit a 2025-2026 application online as soon as possible. It is always our desire to give siblings of current students priority consideration so now is the time to submit an application for the upcoming school year. If you have already submitted an application, we are thankful you desire to continue our partnership!

Also, if your child is currently in Junior Academy PK4 and you plan for your child to enter kindergarten at Christian Academy in the fall 2025, you will need to apply for kindergarten now. This is the one grade that does not continuously enroll.

We are thankful to already have many new applications submitted for the 2025-2026 school year so it is important to move forward now with completing your application if you have a child in your family that is not currently enrolled in Christian Academy. You will find the application here once you log in with your FACTS Family Portal credentials.

Thank you for being a valuable part of the Christian Academy family. Should questions arise, please contact me by email at lbaechtel@caschools.us or phone at (502) 753-4590. It would be my pleasure to serve you.

Once again, we are thankful for your continued partnership!

Important Parent Information – The Anxious Generation

Important Parent Information – The Anxious Generation

We asked and you answered!

We currently have over 160 parents across our system committed to reading Jonathan Haidt’s important book, The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness, this fall. And we would love even more of you to join us. If you missed my first email, here’s the gist…

The book is making waves (in a good way) because it addresses an important issue that seems to be affecting everyone – our kids’ mental health. Haidt is a non-Christian (but faith-friendly) social psychologist so he relies on an evolutionary understanding of humanity and, though I disagree with some of his methodology, I agree with many of his conclusions. As parents (and educators), this is research that cannot be ignored. Honestly, every parent should read this book.

Over the summer we asked Christian Academy employees to consider voluntarily reading it and over 60 took us up on that with more starting since then. Now it’s your turn. I am looking for as many parents as possible to join me in reading The Anxious Generation this fall. It really is that important! There will be no small groups, no Zoom discussions and you will need to purchase the book on your own. We are asking for one commitment – that you attend a town hall meeting on your campus in December to discuss your thoughts on the book and how the information affects Christian Academy culture. CAL will meet on Monday, December 2, and CAI on Tuesday, December 3. I will occasionally share with you via your supplied email supplemental resources as I come across them.

If you’re in, please let me know here

I’ve included the following links to a podcast featuring Jonathan Haidt (there are many) along with a very recent sermon by Tyler McKenzie (Christian Academy parent) that I think you will find interesting.

This may be one of the most important conversations we have about your child’s mental health, social connections and spiritual formation.

Thank you so much for considering!

Yes on Amendment 2

Yes on Amendment 2

We, as a school system, are in support of a constitutional amendment that would enable our Kentucky Legislative and Executive branches to discuss educational choice in Kentucky.

Christian Academy is in favor of “Yes on 2.”

On November 5, 2024, Kentuckians will have the opportunity to vote Yes on Amendment 2, Kentucky’s Education Opportunities Constitutional Amendment, which aims to provide more educational opportunities for families of kindergarten-12th grade students. This amendment prioritizes students and empowers parents to make the best educational choices for each of their children. Additionally, it ensures the protection of Kentucky’s public school funding and structure.

Our school system is unique in that we have campuses in both Kentucky and Indiana. We can testify how the school choice systems in Indiana directly benefit our families in attending CAI. We hope that Kentucky families will also have the chance for the Kentucky legislature to implement some form of school choice in the future. Voting yes to Amendment 2 would enable them to do so. Polls consistently show that 72% of Kentucky families want school choice, but we must vote!

We created a website that provides detailed information about the benefits of voting Yes on Amendment 2 and answers to frequently asked questions. As a community, we ask that you share this website and encourage others to vote yes on Amendment 2 this November.

Ms. Gross and Ms. Passafiume are ALL IN!

We are incredibly proud of all of our exceptional teachers and, over the next several weeks, we are excited to showcase those chosen by their peers as this year’s ALL IN Outstanding Teacher award winners!

These dedicated educators from across the entire Christian Academy School System have gone above and beyond in their commitment to excellence and in making a positive impact on our students’ lives.

We invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements by making a special gift to support Christian Academy School System, ensuring that our Christ-centered education continues to thrive.

This week, we recognize –

Sarah Gross
Sarah always goes above and beyond for her students and for our school. She cares about each student and their academic, spiritual and emotional needs. Her theme is “You can do hard things!” and doesn’t let the students settle for anything less.

as well as –

Tracy Passafiume
Tracy exemplifies what it means to be a dynamic, Christian educator. Her professionalism, love for the Lord, longevity at CAL and reflection of the school’s mission is truly exemplary. I nominate her without reservation.

Congratulations to both Ms. Gross and Ms. Passafiume!

Election Season Devotional #2

Christian Academy Statement: As we enter into another election season, we want to remind our school community that the Christian Academy School System is partisan only to the Bible and our shared Biblical and Foundational Statements. We support each person’s right to vote as led by God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. In keeping with our school, parent and employee partnership commitment, we have agreed to treat our neighbors with respect and honor, as fellow image bearers of God, including engaging in responsible discourse. Christian Academy is firmly dedicated to promoting unity rather than divisiveness in all aspects, including politics.

With this statement in mind, I would like to introduce the second of four devotional thoughts on how we, as Christians, can positively affect our community. Recently, I was introduced to the term “responsible discourse.” How can we share thoughts and ideas and even have conversations when we disagree? As always, the Bible has the answer.

Mr. Bryce Hibbard, Head of Schools, (bhibbard@caschools.us) shares his thoughts and reflections on the power of words. How do we have responsible discourse without fear of hurting the Gospel message?
