Student Life – Get Connected

Looking for students who want to build one-to-one friendships between people with and without disabilities. Best Buddies encourages social interactions while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Come make meaningful connections with your Providence classmates. Help them gain self-confidence and self-esteem and share interests, experiences and activities that high schoolers enjoy.

Eligibility based on 3.5+ weighted GPA and good standing. Beta Club members demonstrate service, character, leadership and citizenship throughout CAL and participate in multiple service projects. New members are typically invited in October, sophomore year. Dues to join the National Beta Club are $35.

Chess Club is open to anyone in Christian Academy from beginner to expert. Join us to play friendly games of chess in room 217 after school on Mondays until 4:15 p.m.!

For those interested in the theater whether it be performing, lighting or sound, costumes and makeup, or stage crew, there is something for everyone!

All students and athletes are welcome to come fellowship around the Word of God.

Join a sisterhood of future engineers and coders. Learn how to code, solve real-world problems and build computer games in a fun environment! We will meet after school (3:15-4 p.m.), day TBD in room 206! You also get to have Girls Who Code Swag for free!

HOSA is a health occupations club. Join us if would like to hear special speakers pertaining to the health field. Meetings the 1st Wednesday of the month during lunch. Eat quickly then come to the media center by 12:35 p.m.

Band, Orchestra

The Local Missions Club aims to love the community of Louisville because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). We serve one Louisville ministry per month, including the Nepali Refugees, Brooklawn Foster Care, the Lost Sheep soup kitchen, Barren Heights Retreat Center and Home of the Innocents.

CAL sponsors several trips through the year both locally, nationally and internationally including Barren Heights, Alaska, Poland, Ghana . . .

Eligibility based on 4.0+ weighted GPA and good standing. Members demonstrate service, character, leadership and citizenship throughout CAL and participate in multiple service projects. New members are inducted their junior year.

Eligibility based on 1) Continued study of Spanish in either Spanish 3 or Conversational Spanish, 2) A-average in both Honors Spanish 1 and Honors Spanish 2, and 3) minimum 3.5 GPA. New members are inducted in the fall of the year they take Spanish 3 or Conversational Spanish. Meetings take place Fridays during lunch in Mrs. Green’s room HS125. National Technical Honor Society works with student organizations and industry partners to award nearly $300,000 in scholarships each year. NTHS supports its members through the Core Four Objectives: Career Development, Leadership Development, Service Opportunities and Recognition. Candidates must be participating in the School of Engineering or School of Biomedical Science. A minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA both overall and with the School of Engineering or Biomedical Science coursework. Meetings are TBD once a month in room 206. Fees for lifetime membership are $40.

Learn the fast-growing sport of Pickleball. We will meet on Fridays (mainly) from 3:30-5 p.m. at the CAL Tennis courts. Bring water and a friend because you are a big “Dill.”

Robotics club is looking for members who are interested in designing and building a robot to compete against other schools in a competition. There will be opprotunites to build, create, code, design, drive and control a robot. We will meet twice a week (Monday and Wednesday after school) in room 109. Requirements include enthusiasm to work and collaborate as a team and a general interest in technology.

Join our award winning team and compete against other high schools in some amazing Science categories. Meetings will be held as needed for individual teams to practice on Red days at lunch in room 102. Registration fee $25 Next meeting will be Tuesday September 16.

Students sit together during organized sports events and cheer on our Centurions.

Allow students to shadow you for a day and you are involved in the welcoming of new students.

Student members are elected by student body and help with the planning of various events (i.e homecoming).

For those who enjoy singing, the following classes are offered: Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir, Honors Chorale (audition required) and Show Choir. These classes fulfill your arts requirement. No experience necessary for Men’s and Women’s Choir.
