CALMS Missions March Ministry Partners are “The Prisoner’s Hope Organization:

What is Prisoner’s Hope (PH)? PH is a non-profit gospel ministry. They teach prisoners the gospel and life and job skills to help them reenter society. They also come alongside families who have a member incarcerated.

Who are the baskets and resources for? Families and Mentees with whom Prisoner’s Hope (PH) works.

Why are we raising money? To assist families who have just had a family member incarcerated and assist PH mentees get on their feet again upon their release from prison.

How? We hope to raise enough money to purchase 24 baskets *$100 each. The baskets will contain helpful and thoughtful household items. Money raised over this amount will go to PH as an organization, to assist them in providing tracphones, bus passes, and groceries for their clients.

When and where should students give?

Themed Dress Down Days – Students will pay $2 per day in their Connect Classes the week of March 16-20 to dress according to the day’s theme (see attached document).

General Giving by GRADE– Students are encouraged to bring in more money than what is required for dress down days. The grade that gives the most receives a “FREE” Dress Down Day (dress code guidelines and dates will be announced.) Giving for the entire grade can be placed in labeled jars in the Middle School Office.

Request: We will need help purchasing the items for the baskets and putting them together after all the money is raised!

8TH GRADE WASHINGTON, D.C. TRIP (4/18/20 – 4/22/20)

Dear 8th Grade Parents,

The payments are in, the paperwork is being assembled, and it is almost time to head to Washington, D.C.!  However, before we go, there is a mandatory parent/chaperone meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the English Station Auditorium.  During this meeting, each family will receive an information package as well as have the opportunity to ask any questions concerning our trip. If you are chaperoning, Mr. Matthies and I ask that you please stay for a few minutes after the parent meeting to discuss expectations.

After the parent meeting you will have the opportunity to complete your student’s medical release/permission slip form for the D.C. trip and make copies of the front and back of your insurance card.  Please bring your insurance card and the phone number of your child’s physician with you and you will have everything you need to complete these forms.

Also, we are in need of 8-10 parents to help assemble the student journals on Wednesday, April 8th from 8:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the Middle School Teachers’ Lounge. These are the journals that students will be using to record the details of our trip.  Please contact our Middle School Receptionist, Kim Novicki at  if you are available. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to help if you cannot chaperone. Thank you in advance for helping with this task.

We are looking forward to seeing you on the 17th!
