MS Cheerleaders are Region Champs!
Congratulations to the CAL middle school competitive cheerleading squad. On December 11, they won 1st place in the medium division at the regional KAPOS competition. They will now compete at the state cheer competition Saturday, January 11th at Eastern Kentucky University. The girls are super excited for this rare opportunity to represent their school and faith at such a huge cheer event! Way to go girls and coaches, Misty Cochran and Marcus Gibson. All for His glory!

Due to current weather conditions the following changes for boys basketball games today (12/7) have been made:
• Boys Varsity Basketball at South Oldham is CANCELLED.
• Boys Middle School Basketball at Mt. Washington MS is CANCELLED.
Friday (12/6) Athletic Events Cancelled
Due to current and impending weather conditions the following athletic events have been changed:
• Tonight’s (12/6) girls’ basketball game vs. Ballard is CANCELLED.
• Tonight’s (12/6) swim meet at UL is CANCELLED.
• All Athletic events scheduled for Saturday (12/7) will be decided later today or Saturday morning.

Basketball Games Changed Due to Impending Weather
Due to impending weather tomorrow changes have been made to tonight’s (12/5) and tomorrow’s (12/6) boys’ and girls’ basketball schedules:
• Girls Varsity game tonight versus LCA has been moved from 7:30pm to 6:00pm
• Girls Freshman game tonight versus LCA is CANCELLED
• Boys Varsity Game versus LCA for Friday night (12/6) has been MOVED TO TONIGHT (12/5) AT 7:30pm
• Boys Freshman/JV games for Friday night are CANCELLED
CAL Cross Country Awarded 2A Runners & Coach of the Year
Cross Country Area 3 Awards were awarded and senior, Hannah Herd was named 2A Girls Runner of the Year and senior, Connor Cloyd was named 2A Boys Runner of the Year. CAL cross country head coach, Lowery Stallings, was named 2A Boys and Girls Coach of the Year. Stallings was also named Area 3 All Louisville Girls 
Coach of the Year.

Coach LeFors Named KFCA District 2A Coach of the Year
Congratulations to CAL head football coach, Stefan LeFors, for being named the Kentucky Football Coaches Association (KFCA) District 2-A Coach of the Year for the 3rd consecutive year. Only KFCA members are eligible for the awards. The KFCA will name its top player and coach in each class during the state finals Dec. 6-7 in Bowling Green.
Here are the district winners, with Player of the Year listed first and then Coach of the Year:

District One – Elijah Sindelar (Caldwell County), David Barnes (Caldwell County); Distirct Two – Houston Hartz (Owensboro Catholic), John Edge (Owensboro Catholic); District Three – Evan Jaggers (Green County), Fred Harbison (Metcalfe County); District Four – Dylan Byrd (DeSales), Stefan LeFors (Christian Academy); District Five – Nate McCoy (Gallatin County), Tim Browning (Gallatin County); District Six – Kagen Skidmore (Somerset), Randy Frazier (Middlesboro); District Seven – Jalen Beal (Covington Holy Cross), Matthew Schmitz (Newport); District Eight – Dylan Hamilton (Betsy Layne), Eddie Melton (Leslie County).
CAL Golfer Sarah Son Named to All-Region Team
Congratulations to Christian Academy junior Sarah Son for being named to the Region 5 All-Region Team for the 2013 golf season as voted by the regions coaches. Sarah is the first CAL golfer to receive any type of regional or state recognition since 2003, when CAL golfer Ashley Current was named to the 2003 All-State Team.
Sarah was a key player in a very successful season for the CAL girls golf team. Besides qualifying for the 2013 KHSAA Girls State Golf Championship Tournament, Sarah was named to three other All-Tournament teams as a result of great individual performances throughout the 2013 golf season. Her 83.4 scoring average in 18-hole tournaments and 39.7 average in 9-hole matches led to top-10 individual finishes in the Henry County Lady Cat Invitational (10th), The Jefferson County Invitational (2nd) and Region 5 Tournament (tie-6th). Sarah’s energy, smile and sportsmanship was contagious on the course and in practice and we are proud of how Sarah represented her team and Christian Academy this past season. Congratulations Sarah on a great season!
