Philosophy

The choir program at CAL is an exciting community where students grow in excellence and ability and are given opportunities to serve others through the gift of music. Many students take private lessons and many others contribute to the health of the program through their strong work ethic. All choir students at CAL work to sight-read independently, appreciate different time periods and cultures through choral literature as well as build ensemble skills like part-singing, intonation, breath support, good tone quality and stage presence.

Classes meet for the full year and generally have one concert each quarter, with Chorale performing a few extra concerts.

Ephesians 5:19

Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,  always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
