Welcome Dr. Michael Cummings, Director of Unity and Diversity

Christian Academy School System | Director of Diversity | Dr. Michael CummingsAfter a regional search, multiple interviews and a lot of prayers we are excited to announce Dr. Michael Cummings as our new Director of Unity and Diversity. A position that we first discussed three years ago has finally come to fruition.

The goal of the work of this position is to help build upon our school environment where all are respected, valued and appreciated while using our mission statement to work alongside others to help create a diverse community. The Director of Unity and Diversity is identified as a spiritual mentor and a resource for all students, teachers, administrators and parents in the school system.

Dr. Cummings brings a wealth of experience, a diverse background and most importantly a love of the Lord to our school system. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Management and a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Religious Studies from Milligan University. His most recent work experience is as Director of Diversity working with regional companies with a focus on talent acquisition and human resources support. He has served as the Senior Pastor of a local congregation in east Tennessee for the past 16 years. He has also led and served on multiple international mission trips to Central America, South America and Africa. Lastly, he has experience working with local school districts as a resource in developing, instructing and facilitating STEM programming for K-12 students.

Dr. Cummings will be visiting all of our campuses to meet teachers and students while becoming familiar with our school cultures and our love for Kingdom building through education. It will take him some time but he would like to also meet as many parents as possible. Varsity Home Football Game, September 10

Christian Academy of Louisville Families – Join us at Centurion Stadium for our home varsity football game September 10, vs. LCA at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. and theme is red, white and blue!

Get your gameday ticket online early here or purchase it in the Armory from 2:30-7 p.m. General Admission is $10. Ages 10 and under are Free.

Elementary (Makeup) and Junior Academy Picture Day, September 23

All elementary students that missed getting their picture taken for the yearbook will have the opportunity to do so on Thursday, September 23. Students must wear a uniform polo shirt and uniform bottoms for the photo.

Junior Academy, this is a chance for students to wear something nice for pictures but please keep in mind that they will still be playing and creating for the rest of the day! We want them to be comfortable for the entire day!

Christian Academy has been Nominated for the Courier Journal’s 2021 Best of the Best – The Official Community Choice Awards

Christian Academy has been nominated in the top three for Best Private School in the Courier Journal’s 2021 Best of the Best program. Winners will be revealed during a virtual awards show this Thursday, September 9, at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by late-night host James Corden with musical accompaniment from the orchestra of The Tina Turner Musical. Teachers, staff, families and friends are invited to to watch live here with the password “congratslouisville.” Again, the link will not be live until 6 p.m. on the 9th but if you can’t make it Thursday the link will be active for two weeks.

Order Your 2021-2022 English Station Elementary Yearbook online here before Labor Day for the price of $33. You may continue to order throughout the year at the increased price.

Also, we are looking for CAL-English Station Elementary students to design a custom cover for the yearbook. Our theme is “Better Together.” All entries are due to be turned into our elementary office by September 17. The chosen cover winner will receive a free copy of the yearbook!
