Biblical Unity Events
The week of August 21: “We Unify” student groups begin at all of our schools! “We Unify” groups are weekly lunchtime groups of high school and middle school students banding together – strategizing ways to display Christlike love toward everyone in their school. “We Unify” groups are for students who believe all people are priceless (Psalm 139:13-15), who are committed to treating all people as priceless (John 15:12) and who want to help their school reflect the truth that all people are priceless (Hebrews 10:24).
The week of August 28: Biblical Unity apparel will be for sale! Christian Academy students, employees and parents are encouraged to purchase a crew sweatshirt or hoodie, adult sizes XS-3XL (very limited supply of each size), blue or gray, with the phrase “Unity Takes You And Me” or “We Unify” on it. Order forms will be available in the front offices of each school department. And payments (cash or check, $15 for crew sweatshirts, $20 for hoodies) can be made there as well.
Field Trips to Berea, KY: Please be on the lookout for field trips dates for each of our high schools and middle schools to Berea, KY (taking place in late October). On these field trips, we will be visiting several historical locations and will tell the miraculous Biblically unifying stories that took place there. A very limited number of students (likely no more than 20) will be able to attend. So (with parent permission) we want to encourage students to sign up right away (once signups open up), if they want to participate in this inspirational event.

The mission of Providence School –
“Today, the Louisville Metro area offers limited choices in educational opportunities for families who have children with Down syndrome. It has been a blessing for Christian Academy School System to offer these families a Christian educational experience. Through Providence School, Christian Academy has provided a much needed service within our community. Providence School is impacting all students on the English Station Campus with life-changing opportunities through integrated academic, spiritual and social interactions. As followers of Christ, we are challenged to lead by His example and serve others. Providence School is just one of the exciting ways Christian Academy School System is reaching out to our community.”

How to be Responsible for My Textbooks
The Media Center would like to welcome our middle and high school students to the 2023-2024 school year! We look forward to being part of your day-to-day life, whether it’s checking out books, blowing off “steam” in our new MakerSpace corner or researching topics with our non-fiction selection or vetted online databases.
As classes begin, some of your teachers may require you to use a textbook. At CAL, we are pleased to offer these books at no charge. You will be given a barcoded book by your teacher and your class will take a trip to the Media Center to scan the book out to your name. It is very important that you keep track of the book you are assigned as you will be expected to turn that exact book back in at the end of the course. If you have any questions, call or stop by anytime – we’re here to help. See you soon!
In the mean time, please check out our How to be Responsible for My Textbook tips.

Christian Academy’s Providence School serving students with Down syndrome is blessed to be a 2023 WHAS Crusade for Children Grant recipient!
Helping families and students plan for transition beyond high school is an important part of school. Providence School will use the grant money to purchase resources that allow us to build in additional training for students to be ready to show employers that they have the vocabulary, reading and math skills necessary to be successful on the job.
The Project Discovery Career Education/Transition System will be purchased with the grant funds. This hands-on, discovery based curriculum is flexible and allows students to be active learners as they practice job skills. Providence students will receive instruction in academic, social-emotional, language and motor skills alongside job and life readiness skills. Once students have experience with these tasks within a school setting, they will be ready to practice those skills in community settings. With these resources, students will gain key employability and independent living skills that they will use in their communities to live meaningful, productive lives. This grant will open doors for students to be world-changers as they pursue careers with strong skills gained from the training.
Introducing the Director of Biblical Unity, Deon Parker
We are excited to welcome Deon Parker, Director of Biblical Unity at Christian Academy!
The Director of Biblical Unity is identified as a spiritual mentor and a resource for all students, teachers, administrators and parents in the school system. Mr. Parker will work alongside others to create/foster a unified school community where all students are respected, valued and appreciated. In addition, he will work with the Directors of Spiritual Formation and Administrative Services to help the Superintendent build strategic initiatives for our school system.
Mr. Parker felt a call from the Lord almost two years ago to focus on helping others see the importance of Christian unity because in his words, “biblical unity should be a part of every Christian’s discipleship.” He has built relationships with other Christian schools nationwide that are intentional in emphasizing that all people are designed in the image of God and how to live that out in today’s culture.
