SAVE THE DATE for the DramatiCALs Jr. Production of ‘Peter Pan – a Musical Adventure,’ November 8-9

Christian Academy School System | Christian Academy of Louisville | English Station Campus | DramatiCALs Jr. | Peter Pan | November 8-9‘Peter Pan – a Musical Adventure’  by Craig Sodaro, music by Eric Rockwell and lyrics by Joanne Bogart.

Soar away to Neverland in this magical adaptation drawn from the beloved novel with fresh, original music!

The Darling children love to hear of Peter Pan’s adventures during his visits through the open window of the nursery. Then one night after Nana has taken his shadow and Wendy has sewn it back on, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell whisk the children off to Neverland to be part of the adventures.  All your favorite characters are there, including Captain Hook and his pirate crew, Princess Tiger Lily and her tribe, and of course, the Lost Boys and Girls!

A rousing and lovely musical score by the award-winning team of Rockwell and Bogart includes “The Boy Who Never Grew Up,” “Fly Me to Neverland,” “Follow the Leader,” and “Home Sweet Home.”

You won’t have any trouble thinking happy thoughts when you see how surprising simple the staging is with no flying required and extensive production notes to make the multiple sets easy to create.

November 8-9, 6:30 p.m.

Middle School Veterans Day Chapel, November 7

On Thursday, November 7, the middle school students will present a special Veterans Day Chapel Service honoring all of the men and women who have served our country, focusing on the soldiers in our own English Station Middle School families.

As a part of this program, there will be a special slideshow in honor of veterans who are related to our students. If you have a picture of a veteran that you would like to be honored at this service, please use the Veterans Form to submit a photo and information no later than Friday, October 25. If you have problems or questions, you may contact Mrs. Hall, the middle school receptionist, at [email protected]. If you submitted a picture last year, rest assured it will be updated and appear in the presentation.

The photo needs to be less than 10mb in order to go through our web system. If you are unsure of the size of your picture, contact Mrs. Hall directly. Due to the large number of submissions each year, we will need to enforce the October 25, cutoff.

If submitting a picture by this date will be a problem or if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hall. We do hope to have you join us for the service even if you are not able to submit a picture.

There will be a reception in the Grand Hallway before the service from 8 a.m. until the service begins at 9 a.m. To RSVP for the reception, please email Dallas Vandiver, Spiritual Life Coordinator, at [email protected] with your name and the number of guests attending by Friday, November 1.

Playwright David Longest has taken the classic Louisa May Alcott novel and expanded it into a sweeping historical tale, recalling the authors own childhood in Concord, Massachusetts and sharing her literary journey with March sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, inspired by her own family life. As they live and grow together, hope and faith are renewed for actors and audience alike. (Produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company)
