IMPORTANT Changes at English Station Effective Monday, April 26

Due to ongoing construction, the English Station main front entrance and lobby will be temporarily relocated effective Monday, April 26, through the end of May. The temporary entrance/lobby will move to door 33, which is currently being used as the preschool/junior academy entrance. Door 33 is directly across from the visitor’s parking lot and adjacent to the tennis courts (see map). Please do not enter at elementary doors 31/32. Students arriving in carpool continue to enter through the same doors.

Two important changes as a result of this relocation:

  1. All high school student drivers arriving in the morning may enter through door 4, the outer side entrance with “High School” lettering above the door. Any high school student drivers arriving late in the morning should also ring the buzzer at door 4 to enter.  All Co-op students will sign out in the high school office.
  2. All visitors and elementary/middle school late arrivals and early pick-ups, as well as any items which need to be dropped off for a student, and all other typical reasons to stop by or enter through our current lobby should now occur at the temporary entrance at door 33. There we will follow our typical visitor procedures, including taking temperatures, etc.

Thank you all for your flexibility during construction. We invite everyone to continue praying for safety, completed construction projects, classroom changes and adjustments for new/returning students as we prepare for an upcoming school year with the blessing of significant student growth.

CAL Youth Football FUNdamentals Mini-Camp

Head Football Coach Hunter Cantwell and the youth football staff are proud and excited to host the 7th annual CAL Youth Football FUNdamentals Mini-Camp. Our mini-camp is designed for all CAL boys currently in grades K-5. We have a fast paced, action packed schedule of agility and skill drills focused on developing our young players. We will be working on individual skills such as: Taking Handoffs, Route Running and Pass Catching, Stances and Blocking Techniques as well as many more drills to help prepare us for the upcoming football season. Our goal is to refresh player’s skills, to create an environment of fellowship among players and parents, all while providing individual football instruction and coaching. We also want to give those who may not have participated in football thus far an opportunity to see what CAL football is all about by getting on the field and trying it out. We hope this will springboard our youth teams into a fun filled and successful ’21 football season.

Please contact Rebecca Mauzy if your player is interested in participating. You can register via email at rebecca_mauzy@att.net or text (502) 529-9741 (need to dial the area code). Please provide your player’s name (first/last), grade, parent(s) names, and contact number.

UPDATE: Elementary Blossoming the Cross, March 24 instead of March 25

Due to the potential for severe weather, the elementary students will now be blossoming the cross for Easter throughout the day on Wednesday, March 24. Parents, please send each of your children to school with one flower stem to add to the cross on this day. The flower can be live or artificial. The cross will now be raised on Thursday, March 25. Unfortunately, we will not have our traditional chapel or be able to welcome guests on campus for this. All classes will be spending time at the cross for a special devotion time prepared by Dr. Shell.

Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Today we are celebrating WDSD across all our campuses. We took this day to emphasize how we are all “more alike than different.” Students will be coming home with a small gift/bookmarker to help them remember this day. Please take a few moments and review the information on the back of the bookmark with your child/students. Students also had the opportunity to view this video of short interviews with Rock Creek students highlighting how we are alike. Thanks for taking time to continue to instill in our students that we are all created in the image of a Mighty God!

In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:10

Elementary Blossoming the Cross, March 25

The elementary students will be blossoming the cross for Easter throughout the day on Thursday, March 25. Parents, please send each of your children to school with one flower stem to add to the cross on this day. The flower can be live or artificial. The cross will be raised on Friday, March 26. Unfortunately, we will not have our traditional chapel or be able to welcome guests on campus for this. All classes will be spending time at the cross for a special devotion time prepared by Dr. Shell.

Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, March 19

Please join Christian Academy in celebrating World Down Syndrome Day and the students of our Providence School on Friday, March 19. Click here for a brief video that you may share with your student and here for more details on how the school system plans to celebrate together. Please note that no new tshirts are being sold this year. Students may wear any of their favorite shirts from previous years with their rocking socks and jeans.
