Christian Academy of Indiana (CAI) is excited to announce that it will host its first ever student-athlete “Mental Toughness” seminar this Saturday, January 31, at 10 a.m. in the Auditorium. All Christian Academy of Indiana and Christian Academy of Louisville – English Station High School students, their families and friends are invited to attend.
Dr. Kevin Chapman, renowned sports psychologist, will be speaking to our student-athletes and families. For nearly a decade, Dr. Chapman served as one of the performance team psychologists at the University of Louisville in the Department of Athletics where he regularly assisted student-athletes on an individual and team basis. Dr. Chapman received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Centre College in 2000, Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University in 2002 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville in 2006. Dr. Chapman is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and is a former collegiate two-sport athlete in track and field and football
Dr. Chapman is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice where he specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and related disorders (social anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, worry, OCD, phobias). Dr. Chapman is a regular contributor to the media and has appeared on Nickelodeon, The Charla Young Show, KET, various radio/podcasts and has consulted on another well-known network. Dr. Chapman serves as a sports performance consultant where he assists athletes with performance enhancement, “mental toughness,” and focus during competition. A contributor to many publications, including Men’s Health, Men’s Health UK and Men’s Fitness, we are excited and honored to have Dr. Chapman speaking to our student-athletes.
The seminar will be free to all Christian Academy students, families and friends. It will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 12 p.m.
I cannot stress the importance of mental toughness and preparation. For all the athletic success we have had over the last few years, the element of “mental toughness’ is one element that will help propel us to the next level. We are thankful to have Dr. Chapman join the journey with us.
See you Saturday!
