Christian Academy of Indiana is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Deary as the Head Boys Soccer Coach. Paul comes to Christian Academy with a wealth of experience as a player and a coach with over 11 years of experience as a player (four of those years in South Africa) and four years as a high school assistant coach in Florida. Paul looks forward to developing a program for CAI, a school he has grown to love over the years. Currently, Paul serves as the pastor of Hillside Church in New Albany, IN.
Coach Deary says, “I am most excited to coach at CAI to see the young men reach their potential in Christ, as well as on the soccer pitch. One thing I’ve seen about this generation is that they believe they can accomplish anything. I hope to bring that mentality to the soccer field. That, as a team, we can accomplish great things – especially as we seek God in the process.”
As the program approaches their season this fall, Coach Deary is excited to begin working with the team in developing their skills and love for the game. “I am looking forward to this upcoming season for a couple reasons. My hope is to build upon the past created by past teams and coaches, and help move the team and individual players forward in their skill and knowledge of the game. The second reason I’m excited is to help create a culture where players give it their all to accomplish great things,” says Coach Deary.
CAI Director of Athletics, Stephanie Gillett says, “Paul is going to be a great addition to our coaching staff here at CAI! His strength in leadership and passion for soccer is a great combination to help the young men in our program develop as athletes and Christian men. What he can do with our program is exciting and we look forward to the growth of our program as a result of his leadership.”
Last season, Warrior Boys Soccer competed in the Sectional finals and they look to grow on that performance and bring home a Sectional title!
