CAL Offers New Archery Program

CAL Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of a new high school and middle school Archery program and the hire of new archery coach, Jacob Killion.

“I have been an avid archer for as long as I can remember. For at least 20 years, I have had a bow in my hand. My grandpa wanted to raise up a hunting buddy for himself, so from the time that I was born, he told me about his great adventures with a bow and arrow,” said Killion. “Shooting recreationally and competitively has been a source of great enjoyment and relaxation.”

Coach Killion said he was excited to coach at a place where I could help train up the next generation of Christ disciples.

“CAL is one of the few places where this is of upmost importance. I couldn’t wait to be a part of a place as special as CAL,” said Killion.

CAL Director of Athletics, Brad Morgan said, “We are excited to add our 24th varsity sport to CAL Athletics. Archery has grown tremendously in this city in recent years. We are excited to offer our students the opportunity to compete in the sport.”

“I look forward to working with the students and seeing them improve over the course of the year. Of course I want to see them compete and win, but I also want to see their love of archery and archery related sports grow,” said Killion.

Coach Killion currently teaches Macroeconomics online for Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas and is a full time student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
