Christian Academy School System is grateful to join our nation in honoring Women’s History Month during the month of March. This month is designed to observe and celebrate the importance of women in American History and their many contributions.

In 1981, Women’s History Month began as a national celebration as Congress passed a Public Law (Pub. L. 97-28) requesting the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987, the celebration was extended to become Women’s History Month. Presidents have issued proclamations since 1995 designating March as “Women’s History Month.”

In 2020, we celebrated 100 years since women in the United States were granted the right to vote. Remarkable pioneers like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony were trendsetters in the struggle for women’s right to vote. Sojourner Truth, Jeanette Rankin and Elizabeth Blackwell were instrumental in fighting for the awareness of women and laid the foundation for women to supersede traditional gender roles.

Join with us this month as we continue to celebrate the accomplishments of women in our history and the great strides they continue to make.
