Last night at the team’s end of the year banquet, Don Rice announced his resignation as the head girls’ basketball coach. Coach Rice led the program at CAL for the last fourteen years.

“I have been blessed to be the head coach of Christian Academy of Louisville. I will always remember the players I’ve had the privilege of coaching and the people who I now call my friends. After discussing the program with Darin Long, I have decided to step down and pursue other options. I know the next head coach will be blessed with these players and parents. It has always been special to be a coach here at CAL. I wish them the very best,” said Coach Rice.

“Coach Rice has built our girls’ basketball program into one of the most consistent and successful in the state. He has helped our players to go on and play at the next level as well as a mentor to all. The school cannot thank him enough for his time, vision, and dedication,” said Darin Long.

Senior basketball player, Lindsey Dunn, said, “The past four years with coach Rice has been a huge blessing. Each year he has pushed me and made me a better player. Not only has he made me a better player, he has made me a stronger girl. He loves The Lord and shows it in his everyday life. He’s taught me how to work hard for my dreams and glorify The Lord in it all. Coach Rice has made a huge impact on my life and I’m so thankful for our relationship. He will forever be a man I admire and someone I will always look up to. CAL is so blessed to have had such an honorable man for so long.”
