We are pleased to announce Chad Carr as our new head boys’ basketball coach.

“We have a great opportunity to be a witness through our basketball program,” said Coach Carr. “My goal is to develop young men of character who can compete at not only the district level, but at the regional level as well.”

CAL Director of Athletics, Darin Long said, “We are excited that Coach Carr will be joining our staff of varsity coaches at CAL. His vision of capitalizing on our strengths and advantages at CAL will continue the rise of our boys’ basketball program.”

Coach Carr replaces Casey Smallwood, who stepped down last month after leading the program for three years. Coach Carr has been the head boys’ basketball coach at Whitefield Academy the past six seasons. He and his wife, Heather, have three children.
