On Tuesday, senior, Colton Talley, signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Lindsey Wilson College.

“I have loved Colton since my 1st day coaching him,” said former CAL head boys’ basketball coach, Casey Smallwood. “Colton puts everything he has into his play. It’s because of his work ethic that I know how successful he’ll be at Lindsey Wilson.”

Talley’s parents, Parnell and Melanie Talley, thanked everyone for their support of Colton. “It was a long road after Colton’s injury and everyone’s support and encouragement have meant a lot,” said Mrs. Talley.

Talley has attended CAL since kindergarten, and has played football and basketball. He suffered an injury his junior year resulting in a torn ACL.

“I had the privilege of coaching Colton his sophomore and junior year and watching the jump between those 2 years was incredible. He’s the type of player you can always count on. He is always in the right place at the right time,” said CAL head football coach, Stefan LeFors.

Colton concluded the signing ceremony by thanking his teammates, coaches, and friends for their support. He looks forward to playing for the Blue Raiders next fall and plans to major in Sports Management.
