Every year about this time, I find myself reflecting on my time in the mission field from the previous year. I have absolutely loved getting to learn and immerse myself in different cultures and among different people groups. God’s creativity and handiwork never ceases to amaze me!

While no one country has been like the next, there has been a running theme throughout my travels and that is the people of God genuinely care for one another. For instance, in rural Uganda many people will plant corn, rice, beans and so on. While one family may only be able to grow one crop they will share with the next family. I’ve seen this same model play out in countries all over the world and yet it never grows old. To witness the joy of one family being able to support another family or for a small community to outreach to a new mother or a refugee camp is one of the most beautiful sights on the face of the earth.

Christian Academy family, we have the opportunity to do the same this November. Between now and November 18, we are collecting canned food to be given to the Bank Street Food Bank and to Eastern Kentucky. Click here for complete details but the main thing to know is families are in need and we have the opportunity to help. Drop off bins are located in each of the school offices for your convenience.

Lastly, since we are all headed into a very busy holiday season, please click here of upcoming mission dates (to print for the fridge of course). We thought you might like to know in advance about some VERY important and fun dates to look forward to, including when we are building house frames #2 and #3 with Help Build Hope.

We hope you have a wonderful day and thank you in advance for helping to meet the needs that surround us in the form of canned food.
